Rainy days makes me shiver... meow!

It has been raining the whole day. Darn! I can't stand the cold. I wish I could nestle the whole day over my blanket and stay asleep just like Mimi (my cat). I wish I could fondle onto somebody's arms he heh...

Cold. Which reminds me of the end of the summer season. Darn again! Well, aside from the upcoming rainy season, another school year to come. Which made me more excited, but not with the rainy season. I remember one time, I was terribly shaking because of the cold weather while I was on my way to the university and ended up staying to the clinic for several hours.

I thought I could withstand the cold that day so I didn't bring my coat. Hah ha! Dare you, cold! Fail..

Since that rainy days will be coming to bring cold to my sexy anatomy (yey!), I'm planning to make some good coats inspired by my favorite anime characters.

Hope I could do that later, but for now I'll be here at my bed cuddled by my soft and warm blanket...

Project Dogwaffle: Amazing paint program

While searching on the web I found this amazing Paint software where you can practice and show your artistic side specially of your fond of landscaping and nature.

It took time to practice painting using this program, but, as they say "practice makes perfect".

I'm not a computer tech type of blogger so I hope I could share my PDW software experience the way everyone could understand ^-^.

Fig. 1

When you open the program, this is the first thing you will see: the BUFFER SIZE window (Fig. 1)

Here,  you can choose the size of the canvass where you are going to do the painting thing.

Fig. 2

After selecting the size, the CANVASS window and the TOOLS will be shown. (Fig. 2)

BE CAREFUL: Be careful about the tool window. I had a problem with the tool window before, it was gone out of the blue and took me time to reformat my PC to recover another setup of PDW.

Optipustic Control (OC)- It's like a particle brush that able you to add particles such as Pine branches without saving the setting and just put the particles right away. I would suggest not to click the save button to avoid problems with the OC settings.

Fig. 5
By selecting the Settings button, you can choose any particles to add on your canvass.                  ►►►

(This panel is so awesome! I could make a good landscape out of this one.☺)

◄◄Filter - Same as the functions of  the filter panel used in any photo editor programs.

Animation - Yes, you can do animation in PDW. Alt key do the all trick at this one so don't be afraid to experiment all the way. ►►

(I'm still on the process of learning on this one and I can say that this is pretty amazing.)

There's a lot of things that I have to learn about this program, but I can say that I could be terribly good at this thing in time that I mastered it, ha hah ha.

Anyway, you can be good at any paint program. Just practice a lot, be eager to learn and show the artistic side of yourself.

I'll share to you one of the picture that I made from PDW.▼▼(The nova looks perfect!)

Filipino snacks: Kutkutin

I have been on the web looking for a site that is about Filipino snacks, unfortunately I haven't seen exactly what I've been looking for. So, I made a list of the foods that I've been craving for a long time.

This list is all about Filipino snacks that mostly Filipinos always bought while they're on their way home as a pasalubong or gift for their family or loved ones, specially if they came from a long trip or have been to a vacation.

Barquillos -  A thin rolled cookies, mixtures of milk, flour and egg. Iloilo, a province in western Visayas, is a well-known province for making barquillos and other sweet delicacies. It's like the Champola wafer sticks and Stick-O's. Good to eat with a hot chocolate and/or along with a scoop of your favorite flavor of ice cream.

Kamote (Sweet potato) Chips and Cassava Chips - This two chips may look like the same, but they differ from the texture and taste. Sweet potato or Kamote are sliced thinly to ensure the crunchy texture after frying while the Cassava, which is also sliced thinly, may appear to have a bubbly-like appearance on the layer of a thin-sliced cassava due to heat pressure while cooking. Kamote chips are best if they're flavored with honey and Cassava chips goes along with cheese flavor and barbeque. You can go and visit Market Manila for their recipe of Kamote chips.

Shingaling -I've been eating this food since I was a child and it was and is the best snack ever. Made out of Thick noodles, dried over night and deep fried with seasoning and red pepper until it reaches it's golden brown color. Visit Loqal.ph where Marjorie Gorospe shared her story of A snack fondly called ‘shing-aling’.

Banana Chips - Sliced thinly and deep fried with sugar, banana chips is one of the classic Pinoy snacks.

Ampao - From the word itself Ampao or hollow, this food is made out of sesame and a thin wafer-like filling or sometimes is made out of puffed rice and coated with sugar caramel.

These sweet delicacies and snacks are mostly found in Pasalubong stores, bus stops and or supermarkets.

Goth enlightenment: The light side if the dark chasers

This is Philippines. No Goths around. . .

How weird to hear that there are just few here in my country who knows about the goth genre. They know punks, those people who do Mohawks and black muscle T-shirts and nose piercings and head banging concerts and esophagus tearing noises (that's how non-punks understand the way punks do). They know Emo, those kids who do literally hurt themselves to say they are one and wear bondage over it and wear black and white sweat shirts or stripy polo's under 28'C temperature every day(Again, that's how non-emo's understands the way the Emo's do). But they know no goth.

I was in my high school days when someone notice my everyday get-up attire and asked me if I were a goth. I thought he was talking about the architectural designs of the late era. I never wear any dress color aside from the color black unless it is my uniform which happens to be all white and partially green. After having a small conversation with that guy, I wondered, am I goth?

But the dress is not the issue.

I've been reading for almost many blog sites including goth blogs. And what catches my attention are these questions: "Are you goth enough?", "how to be a goth?" etc. It's the typical questions from the baby bats (referring to a newbie goth) and confused and those who are having issues being one. Some preferred to show they are one by the way they project themselves to others, some to fashion and some... They just do it the way they wanted.

This time, I'm not going to answer these questions, but I'm going to pull the light side of the thing they called the dark and the GOTH. (I hoped my pre-med psychology course background will help)

For non-goths who are aware of the goth culture, they say it is a satanic thing that we kids (did I say 'we'?) shouldn't follow. For some it is a deep, dark culture that we must explore. For my parents, it is a "just-do-what-you-want" thing. And for me, it is the greatest, so far, challenge that I encountered.

Challenge. Why did I called it a challenge? Let's just say that being a goth is a trait, and this trait is definitely the opposite of me.

I got fascinated over these gorgeous lady goths who wears Victorian dresses and those state of the art make up by Adora Batbrat. But I can't do that. I can't make myself look like that. Not because I can't, but I'm not able to.

Now I see, confidence. Goth, not dark at all

It takes courage to make yourself goth enough, confidence to say you are goth enough.

There is creativity because every goth shows their uniqueness through their cloths, make-up accessories etc.

There is FREEDOM. You heard it right. Freedom. I always thought that Goths are free souls. They do what they wanted without hurting anyone even themselves. They are free to express their feelings in a way--in any way-that only themselves can do. Though they seem like they are always so deep and dark and creepy or... what words they used to describe themselves, they always seem so free, free to do all the thing they want amidst the critics they get from the people who can't appreciate the art of being a goth.

You just don't have to be goth outside, but also inside. Being goth (for me) is how this trait shows the real you and how you feel inside, without hiding or concealing the real aspects of yourself.

To be honest, to realize and internalized that I (and everyone) possessed this trait taught me to come out of my shell (yes, I thought of it as a trait) and say what I feel inside without actually saying it. Everybody possessed this trait unknowingly same as the other traits you can find in the dictionary. But the question is are you able to pull this trait out of your hidden self and confidently say: "I am that one".

Songs that makes me float

These are the songs I always listened to in times that I'm not in the mood or I had a bad day. These songs are the ones that isolate my mind from reality and makes me feel like floating in the sky and makes me forget about the negative vibes around me. Most of it are ethereal songs and OPMs and I want to play a bunch of it!

Only time - Enya

Kissing the Christmas killer - Maaya Sakamoto

Dango - Clannad opening song

Luha - Rivermaya

Muli - Bamboo

A letter to the best person in the world, MOM

She was the light to everyone’s heart
A guide to the heart of my childhood
And give wisdom for my own good.
She never fails to flatter me
She’s the inspiration to me and my family.
She always made us feel loved,
And give us things more than what she had.
She’s a queen that cooks,
Don’t have a crown but a castle
Of love, dreams and hopes.
She’ll make you laugh but never let you cry.
She’ll mend your heart with her sweets
And will make your mind with her dish.
She knows what’s best for you
But always let you to choose.
She’s the best of the best
The best and very first best friend I could ever have.
Love you ‘Ma.

Avid radio listener

Blogger's new look

Far far and away from the net... Good things happen after the disconnection

It's been a month since the last time i get in touch with the web again.
